You start by deciding on a fun or thoughtful question, answer that question, then invite others to answer the same question. Once you've answered, you can see what everyone else said in one reveal! In the future, you can dive in deeper into a group chat on that topic with Pi joining in along the way!
Start a Between us activity
Click on activities at the bottom of your Pi app and click on Between us. Then choose a question to kick things off: for example, "What's a moment with each other you keep going back to?". If you want Pi to come up with a different question, just press the cycle link on the right of the question box. Click on Start at the bottom of the screen. Type your answer when Pi prompts "It's your turn to answer:" and click on Continue.
Share the question
After you answer, Pi gives you a share screen so you can invite up to 15 others to join. Click on the Share button to share the link directly through Messages, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Slack, or any app on your phone's native share feature. The link expires within 7 days. As people join, you'll see a live count of remaining spots (e.g. "12 spots left").
Join the activity
When the people click on the link you shared, they’ll see a preview of the activity and a headline like "[Your name] started this. It's your turn to answer." If people on your share list are new to Pi, they'll be asked for a few basics (first name and over 18 age confirmation) before they can answer. They do not need an account with Pi to participate! If someone shares a link to a group that's already full, expired, or that you're already a member of, Pi will let you know rather than letting you join twice.
The Reveal
When you and the people you’ve invited, all answered, it unlocks the reveal where all the answers are shared. Nobody gets a “free look” at the group's answers without adding their own first.
Suggested replies
After a reveal, Pi will surface quick-reply suggestions above the message box so you can keep the conversation going. These are hidden while it's your turn to answer, and reappear afterward to help you react or ask a follow-up.
You can customize Pi’s quick reply suggestions by clicking on the three dots button at the top right of the screen. This gives you a set of topics to select 3.
Turn on notifications
Pi can let you know when someone else answers or a new question is ready. Click on the More button at the bottom right corner of the page: this is the new home for Settings, My stuff and Help & Feedback. Click on Settings → Notifications → Activities and toggle this on.
Start another round
Once a round wraps up, you can start a fresh one, with the same group or a different set of people!
