Learn with Pi - FAQ

Make a little room for a new language, one conversation at a time.

Learn with Pi gives you short situations to respond to in the language you’re learning. Choose your level, try a reply, and explore more natural ways to say what you mean.

Using Learn with Pi

How do I get started?

Open Activities → Learn with Pi; on mobile, swipe through the activity cards if needed. Choose a language and select Start practicing, then choose your level and select Start. On the web, you can also add an optional reason for learning. Beginners are welcome, and you can change your level later.

Choose English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Turkish, or Arabic, or select Another language… and type the language you want to practise.

What happens during practice?

Pi gives you a short scenario in English. Reply in your chosen language, and Pi suggests natural wording in an A native might say card before continuing the scene. The card can include English meanings; its copy button copies the practice-language text without those translations. You can keep practising or choose Start a new scenario the same day.

How do I switch languages or return to a practice?

Open the activity menu (⋯ beside the practice title on mobile) → Change language. Each language has its own conversation, level, and reminder. If offered, choose Continue to resume or Start new for a fresh practice; the earlier conversation stays in Recents.

Practices are saved automatically. On web or mobile, open Activities → Recents to continue or review earlier replies and corrections. To stop a practice, choose End this practice from its menu and follow the confirmation. Its conversation remains available to read.

How do I manage reminders?

Open the activity menu → Customize and choose a reminder for that language: This time, Mornings, Evenings, or No reminder. Check the displayed time and select Save. Reminders are optional; your browser or phone must also allow Pi notifications for alerts to arrive.

When something isn’t right

What if I don’t know how to answer?

Choose Help me start for a hint, then Show me the answer if you need the full answer and its meaning. You can also ask Pi a question or choose Start a new scenario when offered.

What if the practice is too easy or too hard?

Choose Simpler or Harder during practice. To change your saved level, open the activity menu → Customize, choose your level, and select Save.

What if I don’t understand a correction?

Ask Pi to explain the wording or give another example. Pi can make mistakes, so double-check anything important.

Why didn’t I receive my reminder?

Check that the reminder for the right language is set to a time rather than No reminder, and that you saved the change. Then check Pi’s notification settings and your browser or phone notification permissions.

What should I do if my practice won’t load?

Check your connection and use Try again if it appears. You can also return to Activities → Recents and reopen the practice. If it still won’t load, contact support with any error message and the step where it happened.

How do I report a problem with a response?

On the web, right-click Pi’s message and choose Report. Choose the reason, add details if you’d like, and submit the report. The form explains that submitting it sends the entire conversation to Inflection AI for review.

Where can I get more help?

Use Pi’s Help & feedback → Request support. Include whether you’re on mobile or web, your chosen language, and what you were trying to do. See Pi’s help and feedback guide for the available support options.
